Our Honeymoon In New Orleans

July 31st, 2006 by Jeff in Life

The restaurants we dined at were numerous, but here were a few that really stuck
out for us during our stay:

The Rib Room St, Louis and Royal

Host: Alan

Bartenders: Murray, Jo, and Nicole

As I said before, we had the steak upon arrival. On our second stay, I had the
Oyster Crisp, and the Seafood Platter, both of which were excellent. Andrea had
the Creole Tomato Soup and Rotisserie Chicken which were also done to
perfection. The waiters were prompt and very courteous.

We had a table by one of the windows of St. Louis street which is my favorite
part of the restaurant. There is always so much going on in New Orleans, it is
fun to watch it happen by the window.

We did not get the name of all the bartenders, but Murray was the bartender that
we spoke with most. He made Andrea a Chocolate Martini with Godiva that was
beyond excellent. The Rib Room bar prides itself on the plethora of Martinis
they can make. Let’s just say that Murray’s Martini made Andreas night end
early. 🙂

Jo gave us a heads up on some of the other restaurants in the area and was, as
Billy Joel says, “quick with a joke, and a light of your smoke”.

Nicole was a very pleasant bartender and had a lot of information about New
Orleans that you just do not find in a tourist guide.

Alan was the finest of hosts and treated us like royalty. As a New Yorker, that
kind of treatment is refreshing!
